Here is the verse I read today:
There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.
I was chatting with a friend who was talking about short-timer syndrome that is common in people who just released from prison or those who are homeless. Even when things are working out, people would just disappear and substage the opportunities that are in front of them. My friend explained that this is because of fear.
To me, fear is one of the weapons used by Satan. He would whisper in our ears, things like “don’t try hard. You will fall back to your old self anyway” or “or there is no way you gonna have a job, or have a place to live. Look at you, you have bounced around since you were a kid. Just let it go. Don’t even believe there is a second chance. Prison is where you belong”.
No! Don’t believe any of those! Pause, and throw those lies our of window.
Here is the truth that Jesus revealed for us-In God, there is no fear! We (those who have Jesus in our hearts) are strong and we have already overcome the evil one.
Friends, let’s walk this journey together and remind each other that our lives are not defined by fear but the love of God!
